We've lost the plot on work-life balance

I think we've lost the plot on work-life balance.

Somewhere along the way it became a hard line at 5pm. Laptop closed, phone on silent, work stays at work. I get the appeal. It just doesn't match how life works.

Some days you need to leave at 2 for an appointment or a kid's game. Some nights a server goes down at 9 and you jump on. Both are fine. Balance is having the freedom to move the line, and the trust to do it without asking permission every time.

That's how we try to run things at Always Beyond. Get your work done, keep people in the loop, and choose when and where it happens.

Not everyone will care about the business the way an owner does. That's ok. They have full lives outside of this, and good leadership builds around that instead of pretending it isn't there.
